a quick blab

it's been forever since my last post! it seems pretty rare for me to write here, now, at the office.
uh oh! I just had my birthday couple weeks ago, my friends sent their best wishes through a cake filled with caramel on it. Yum..

Decided to focus on my work, dealing with all those live concerts and reports. Fun indeed..

My rambling thoughts just spoken now, words falling out meaningless. New Year resolution? Blah..don't have any of it. However, becoming those walking blackberries did cause me into trouble of sleeping. Eagerly staring at those twitter time line every goddamn nights and days is my new part time job these days..boring!

i sucked..please..don`t punish me

Sadly to inform you, I am officially become one of those walking blackberries now. Damn! It's not like I want it to be a part of
it. I use it, just to helping out one of my family members who seems to be lost after buying this all mankind on earth's favorite companion to hold in hands..so, voila! I'm holding one of them now, and writing this post through it. Comes very handy, I admit.. But still, my eternal craving for gadget goes to Sony Ericsson, which I just found out the price is lesser expensive than this one. *sigh* what else can I say? "Embrace it and don't be too autistic, G", says my inner voice..

Uh oh..!!One thing..it's a long weekend! Foo yaa!!

Rock On!

La Di Da..
Where should I begin? hmm..hmm..I'll say my first encounter with the new office.
well, it was OK..probably because I already know the flow of works and my responsibility upon this job. So, got nothing to worry that much. It's just the material to be written slightly little bit different than what I used to write. It's about MUSIC...rock on! which I love the most.

Ah! forgot to tell ya, what's exciting about my days at the office, is that I had to ride some public transportation to go to the office. The train and Kopaja rides are like my chewing gum in every morning. Actually the commuting isn't that far, but I need some strength to savor my every single days with the rides. It's not that easy for a spoiled brat like me..yet, I miss my Vivi :'(
I'll let you know right away if there's something serious happens while I'm working there..hopefully not! The people are fun and friendly to be with..at least, they seems to be ;)

Rock On!

Surprise Me!

There are some good new things just happened to me these days.

First, I got a new job..yeah yeah..that's what I've been looking, for the past three months. I'm gonna be responsible to write all the music and movies articles for a Teen Magazine in town and maybe some of other articles as well, which related to teenager activities..I'm guessing. Attracts me the most is that I have to commute by train to the office. Someone said that I might only gonna stand for two months! Come on...! Am I that bad as a spoiled brat!? I'll prove him wrong. The job is actually quite promising, I have tons of DVD collections that reflects how I love watching movies from Comedy, Drama, Drama-Comedy, Romantic-Comedy, Musical Drama as-caliber-as-Dancer in the Dark, Action Movies, to Indie Movies, I can bear them all..*someone might yelp to me now, utter "can you watch cult movies, G?!"*, I'll say..if it's as-caliber-as-Clock Work Orange yes I can! Then, I will write about Music!! I am crazily in love with it since...I'm alive, since God made my ears worked to hear! So...we'll see who's going down! The man who think he knows everything or Me, who will going through the job every goddamn single days..struggling into it. I'll keep you update, then.

a bundle of burden

In the first day of this week, I had a bundle of burden in my head. The writing freelance job I have now, and all the implications within. Gladly, it takes only two days for me to release this burden and being able to write it all up and send it to my editor.

*sigh*
Yes, I am doing a freelance job now, in a Bakery Magazine.
At least I have another experience in the world of writing. In this matter the writing will cover about Cake and Bakery. It's fun, and I got the chance to meet few of interesting people. A high school graduated girl who's able to design such a great wedding cake and cute cupcakes. Love her design so much.

What will I do next? Well, I am applying to another job actually.. We still bargaining for the best range of money for the salary. But, somehow I don't mind even though it takes the stayed still amount of money from my previous job. It's Music and Movies, my biggest passion and interest indeed!

It's a Music and Movies Reporter in HighEnd Teen Magazine, Jakarta. Basically, all I can do now is make the wish that it will all come through and fall directly into my hands. I am noticed and well-aware that the office of this magazine is literally far away from my house. Obviously, I am planning to give up my beloved ride, Vivi and becoming a pedestrian or train rider. Indeed, it will be a lot of fun and full of excitement, yet a long journey to the office, I'm sure of that.

*another sigh*
Tomorrow, I have an appointment to have a photo shoot in another Bakery which make a wedding cake that I reviewed. Yet, coming by to the far far away office will be on the list. Silly me, forgot to bring the magazines for Monday interviews with two different Bakery.

Let's hope for the best! I'm gonna close tonight with a solemn chants and hums in my car, later. SEIZE the day! That's what my friend said when I came to him and cried about that silly burden I had.

As a matter of fact, I am through with it. This burden, cause I chose to SEIZE it!

RADIOHEAD, The King of Limbs (Music Review for Teen Magz)

RADIOHEAD –The King of Limbs, album review.

Who would have noticed, that it’s been 18 years since Radiohead released their first debut, Pablo Honey. It's even harder to believe that after such a long and successful career (artistically and commercially), Radiohead is still trying to make a breakthrough in the music industry of 2011. Radiohead has created an album possibly more experimental and adventurous than anything they have done before.

The King of Limbs, their latest album shows almost no traces of the grunge sound and alternative rock that Radiohead became known for. This album sounds so experimental with electronic element that can easily confuse their very first fan base. This can be a difficult album to get into, but if you keep an open mind and willing to give it a try, the listening experience can be very rewarding. In fact, The King of Limbs might be their finest album after OK Computer.

The King of Limbs may not be the most original album that ever been created. Yet, it is a very unique album. It can not be said as your typical “rock” act anymore. The album filled with haunting electronic beats, the consistency of Thom Yorke’s melancholic vocals, and almost psychedelic atmospheres. It will take a while before you could really appreciate this unconventional and experimental work of art.

The single “Lotus Flower” is a very good representation of The King of Limbs, as it really captured the emotion of the whole album. The first track “Bloom” really set the tone for the rest of the album. It has intricate polyrhythm and unusual signature. We can hear the monotonous piano paired with great vocals that create hypnotic, yet it is beautiful. While “Morning Mr. Magpie” is one of the most accessible tune and simplicity is genius! And in “Little by Little” it is a nostalgic of the old Radiohead that we love so much. The simple song structure fits Thom Yorke’s melancholy voice.

Overall, the technical aspects of The King of Limbs are quite strong. The musicianship is excellent as always, especially Thom Yorke's fantastic vocal. The aim is not on showmanship, but it’s actually relies on how to create a decent music. The production is top-notch, and sonically good. This experimental masterwork is very refreshing and there is even more reason to savor it.

Kate Havnevik -Music Review for a Teen Magazine Job-

Kate Havnevik

Her unique name seems hard to pronounce, it says Hav-ne-veek. A girl who smiles a lot was born in Norway 27 October 1975. Raised by an English and Norwegian parents who was actually a classical flute players. She chose to use her mother’s maiden name, Havnevik because her mother is a strong woman.

Her first debut Melankton, which means “black rose” the name is taken from a character, in Norwegian novel Oppdageren, which translates to The Discoverer. All of her songs were beautifully written and the lyric was made to show a little dark side of Kate Havnevik. She was living in London, and has the thought about a pop stardom. She felt a bit pushed into a commercial pop by everyone around her who only thinks about the hit in songs. Which actually it relies more than just a hit.

For her personality, Kate can be very friendly. "When people meet me, I can be very talkative and very lively, but my lyrics are on the dark side," she admits. Melankton will surprise you, with a delightful and an intriguing sounds, yet it’s therapeutic!. Hear couples of her songs as “Unlike Me tells about being trapped in yourself, envying people who are free and comfortable with themselves. Not Fair is like times when you take someone into your life, they lead you on and then they fuck up everything and leave you in a mess and while melancholy seems to be pouring out in the song I Don't Know You”.

She wrote all the songs, and recorded most of it in her homemade vocal booth in the bedroom, she made her closet into a vocal booth. You can find the soothing orchestra sound beautifully heard side by side with the trip-hop tunes. She designed the artwork and arranged the strings of the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. The results are nothing short of stunning. "I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm ever so proud of it. And, as much as I'd rather sell a million copies of the album, I'd be just as proud if nobody bought it", she said.

There’s still more to it, she already become the darling of the Music Supervisor community with songs featured on the West Wing, The OC, Commander in Chief, Windfall, In Justice and Greys Anatomy which has featured six of Kate’s songs on the past 10 months. The Greys Anatomy producers were so happy with their new discovery that they commissioned Kate to write the song for the closing scene of the second season finale, in addition to placing it on that seasons soundtrack. . Kate ever played her first Melankton live show, a support gig with Sigur Ros in Oslo. Moreover, her lovely voice makes the album seems not easily to forget!
