I watched this serial TV movies and i found it amazingly great! The main character, Dexter Morgan. A forensic officer in Miami Police Department, who living his life in full of lies. He kept the secret in his life, turns out to be a serial killer.
Not just it, he killed all the convicts people who usually get in away from the law or escaped. Dexter got them chopped, put them in a table, strapped in a plastic duct tape, cut into pieces with some sharp knives. I loved when Dexter doing his job...killing the bad guys!
Funny thing is, Dexter never get caught up. He got one inch closed into the arrest which his own department held on, then he got lucky...big time. Yet, he always find a way to get away from the accusation. This intriguing conflicts indeed, excites me the most.
Dexter was being adopted by a police officer named Harry Morgan. Dexter found in a trailer, watching his own mother chopped facing death. He and his brother had to experienced this crazy massacre in 2 inches thick of blood. While his brother was also a serial killer, they called him the ice truck killer. I believe there some kind of psychological effects on seeing your beloved parents chopped into pieces. Poor Dexter!
While his father taught Dexter very well how to apply his anger in slightly more proper way to compensate...killing the bad guys. Dexter happened to live emotionless and dull, but he had to faking it so that he can be accepted and look normal in a society.
One thing that bumps me out while I'm watching this serial killer is when Dexter got involved in a romance story. Yes, he had a girlfriend. A mother of two, Rita..work as a front desk in a hotel. It just seems unfair, isn't that Dexter is emotionless? can't feel any happiness, nor sadness.
Why does he would end up building a relationship? A serious one. As the assurance, this movie filled up with a plenty of sexual intercourse scenes. Which I still can't accept it right, they made love too much! *sigh* Guess that's one thing that can sell a movie..indeed.
Dexter's voice in the very beginning of the movie, I take it as if Dexter still purely naive, no sex on his mind whatsoever.
He uttered:
"Friday Night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami. and everyone is having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so...undignified."Precisely in that statement Dexter mentioned that having sex seems to be undignified...as lacking in dignity. How come a person like Dexter could be crave crazily for sex. I'll say it's all Rita's fault! Yes..I blame Rita for that..*scoffs*
More tragic I'll say, the scene when Rita got pregnant! yuck...that is certainly happened because they made love too much...like...way too much! I clapped my hands and exclaimed : Fuck yeah! This story gets pathetically ruined!
Probably, I can understand where maybe people out there are being so curious to know what is it like if a guy like Dexter, an emotionless man had to play his role in parenting. Does the child will end up inherits his killing behavior? or becoming like Rita? Hmmm..still, it's disturbing to watch. Why not Dexter keep working on his killing hunts without this kind of burden?
Dexter voices:
"We're supposed to see hope in children. But right now, all i see are little bundles of uncertainty. And germs. But that's another matter. I love kids. I can play with them, enjoy them. And leave."This lines of his voice proves that even Dexter is still have doubts in him! At first, he decided will not be there with Rita to raise the child. But I guess he changed his mind in the end. This movie is not fun anymore to watch. Darn it!
