a quick blab

it's been forever since my last post! it seems pretty rare for me to write here, now, at the office.
uh oh! I just had my birthday couple weeks ago, my friends sent their best wishes through a cake filled with caramel on it. Yum..

Decided to focus on my work, dealing with all those live concerts and reports. Fun indeed..

My rambling thoughts just spoken now, words falling out meaningless. New Year resolution? Blah..don't have any of it. However, becoming those walking blackberries did cause me into trouble of sleeping. Eagerly staring at those twitter time line every goddamn nights and days is my new part time job these days..boring!

i sucked..please..don`t punish me

Sadly to inform you, I am officially become one of those walking blackberries now. Damn! It's not like I want it to be a part of
it. I use it, just to helping out one of my family members who seems to be lost after buying this all mankind on earth's favorite companion to hold in hands..so, voila! I'm holding one of them now, and writing this post through it. Comes very handy, I admit.. But still, my eternal craving for gadget goes to Sony Ericsson, which I just found out the price is lesser expensive than this one. *sigh* what else can I say? "Embrace it and don't be too autistic, G", says my inner voice..

Uh oh..!!One thing..it's a long weekend! Foo yaa!!

Rock On!

La Di Da..
Where should I begin? hmm..hmm..I'll say my first encounter with the new office.
well, it was OK..probably because I already know the flow of works and my responsibility upon this job. So, got nothing to worry that much. It's just the material to be written slightly little bit different than what I used to write. It's about MUSIC...rock on! which I love the most.

Ah! forgot to tell ya, what's exciting about my days at the office, is that I had to ride some public transportation to go to the office. The train and Kopaja rides are like my chewing gum in every morning. Actually the commuting isn't that far, but I need some strength to savor my every single days with the rides. It's not that easy for a spoiled brat like me..yet, I miss my Vivi :'(
I'll let you know right away if there's something serious happens while I'm working there..hopefully not! The people are fun and friendly to be with..at least, they seems to be ;)

Rock On!

Surprise Me!

There are some good new things just happened to me these days.

First, I got a new job..yeah yeah..that's what I've been looking, for the past three months. I'm gonna be responsible to write all the music and movies articles for a Teen Magazine in town and maybe some of other articles as well, which related to teenager activities..I'm guessing. Attracts me the most is that I have to commute by train to the office. Someone said that I might only gonna stand for two months! Come on...! Am I that bad as a spoiled brat!? I'll prove him wrong. The job is actually quite promising, I have tons of DVD collections that reflects how I love watching movies from Comedy, Drama, Drama-Comedy, Romantic-Comedy, Musical Drama as-caliber-as-Dancer in the Dark, Action Movies, to Indie Movies, I can bear them all..*someone might yelp to me now, utter "can you watch cult movies, G?!"*, I'll say..if it's as-caliber-as-Clock Work Orange yes I can! Then, I will write about Music!! I am crazily in love with it since...I'm alive, since God made my ears worked to hear! So...we'll see who's going down! The man who think he knows everything or Me, who will going through the job every goddamn single days..struggling into it. I'll keep you update, then.

a bundle of burden

In the first day of this week, I had a bundle of burden in my head. The writing freelance job I have now, and all the implications within. Gladly, it takes only two days for me to release this burden and being able to write it all up and send it to my editor.

*sigh*
Yes, I am doing a freelance job now, in a Bakery Magazine.
At least I have another experience in the world of writing. In this matter the writing will cover about Cake and Bakery. It's fun, and I got the chance to meet few of interesting people. A high school graduated girl who's able to design such a great wedding cake and cute cupcakes. Love her design so much.

What will I do next? Well, I am applying to another job actually.. We still bargaining for the best range of money for the salary. But, somehow I don't mind even though it takes the stayed still amount of money from my previous job. It's Music and Movies, my biggest passion and interest indeed!

It's a Music and Movies Reporter in HighEnd Teen Magazine, Jakarta. Basically, all I can do now is make the wish that it will all come through and fall directly into my hands. I am noticed and well-aware that the office of this magazine is literally far away from my house. Obviously, I am planning to give up my beloved ride, Vivi and becoming a pedestrian or train rider. Indeed, it will be a lot of fun and full of excitement, yet a long journey to the office, I'm sure of that.

*another sigh*
Tomorrow, I have an appointment to have a photo shoot in another Bakery which make a wedding cake that I reviewed. Yet, coming by to the far far away office will be on the list. Silly me, forgot to bring the magazines for Monday interviews with two different Bakery.

Let's hope for the best! I'm gonna close tonight with a solemn chants and hums in my car, later. SEIZE the day! That's what my friend said when I came to him and cried about that silly burden I had.

As a matter of fact, I am through with it. This burden, cause I chose to SEIZE it!

RADIOHEAD, The King of Limbs (Music Review for Teen Magz)

RADIOHEAD –The King of Limbs, album review.

Who would have noticed, that it’s been 18 years since Radiohead released their first debut, Pablo Honey. It's even harder to believe that after such a long and successful career (artistically and commercially), Radiohead is still trying to make a breakthrough in the music industry of 2011. Radiohead has created an album possibly more experimental and adventurous than anything they have done before.

The King of Limbs, their latest album shows almost no traces of the grunge sound and alternative rock that Radiohead became known for. This album sounds so experimental with electronic element that can easily confuse their very first fan base. This can be a difficult album to get into, but if you keep an open mind and willing to give it a try, the listening experience can be very rewarding. In fact, The King of Limbs might be their finest album after OK Computer.

The King of Limbs may not be the most original album that ever been created. Yet, it is a very unique album. It can not be said as your typical “rock” act anymore. The album filled with haunting electronic beats, the consistency of Thom Yorke’s melancholic vocals, and almost psychedelic atmospheres. It will take a while before you could really appreciate this unconventional and experimental work of art.

The single “Lotus Flower” is a very good representation of The King of Limbs, as it really captured the emotion of the whole album. The first track “Bloom” really set the tone for the rest of the album. It has intricate polyrhythm and unusual signature. We can hear the monotonous piano paired with great vocals that create hypnotic, yet it is beautiful. While “Morning Mr. Magpie” is one of the most accessible tune and simplicity is genius! And in “Little by Little” it is a nostalgic of the old Radiohead that we love so much. The simple song structure fits Thom Yorke’s melancholy voice.

Overall, the technical aspects of The King of Limbs are quite strong. The musicianship is excellent as always, especially Thom Yorke's fantastic vocal. The aim is not on showmanship, but it’s actually relies on how to create a decent music. The production is top-notch, and sonically good. This experimental masterwork is very refreshing and there is even more reason to savor it.

Kate Havnevik -Music Review for a Teen Magazine Job-

Kate Havnevik

Her unique name seems hard to pronounce, it says Hav-ne-veek. A girl who smiles a lot was born in Norway 27 October 1975. Raised by an English and Norwegian parents who was actually a classical flute players. She chose to use her mother’s maiden name, Havnevik because her mother is a strong woman.

Her first debut Melankton, which means “black rose” the name is taken from a character, in Norwegian novel Oppdageren, which translates to The Discoverer. All of her songs were beautifully written and the lyric was made to show a little dark side of Kate Havnevik. She was living in London, and has the thought about a pop stardom. She felt a bit pushed into a commercial pop by everyone around her who only thinks about the hit in songs. Which actually it relies more than just a hit.

For her personality, Kate can be very friendly. "When people meet me, I can be very talkative and very lively, but my lyrics are on the dark side," she admits. Melankton will surprise you, with a delightful and an intriguing sounds, yet it’s therapeutic!. Hear couples of her songs as “Unlike Me tells about being trapped in yourself, envying people who are free and comfortable with themselves. Not Fair is like times when you take someone into your life, they lead you on and then they fuck up everything and leave you in a mess and while melancholy seems to be pouring out in the song I Don't Know You”.

She wrote all the songs, and recorded most of it in her homemade vocal booth in the bedroom, she made her closet into a vocal booth. You can find the soothing orchestra sound beautifully heard side by side with the trip-hop tunes. She designed the artwork and arranged the strings of the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. The results are nothing short of stunning. "I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm ever so proud of it. And, as much as I'd rather sell a million copies of the album, I'd be just as proud if nobody bought it", she said.

There’s still more to it, she already become the darling of the Music Supervisor community with songs featured on the West Wing, The OC, Commander in Chief, Windfall, In Justice and Greys Anatomy which has featured six of Kate’s songs on the past 10 months. The Greys Anatomy producers were so happy with their new discovery that they commissioned Kate to write the song for the closing scene of the second season finale, in addition to placing it on that seasons soundtrack. . Kate ever played her first Melankton live show, a support gig with Sigur Ros in Oslo. Moreover, her lovely voice makes the album seems not easily to forget!

am i overthink or being realistic?

Funny, really..with how people can be the slave of the latest technology these days. I went to another local coffee shop with my sister just now.

There was some problems with her internet wifi on her lappy. Then, because of that, she would sacrifice herself to ride a public transportation, heading out to the nearest local coffee place. Just to get online from a lappy and be attached to the world of technology. She would left me alone, her very own sister. I figured that she don't have anything urgent, like replying emails or whatsoever. She just want to play that stupid online GAME!

Well, the statements above seems to be another example and the result to my previous post : "The Walking Blackberries", where technology seems to be the most evolving thing in this world, these days! Alas..

While I left alone here, I decided to prepare myself, do the research for tomorrow. Google these two companies. I have two interviews, a copywriter job and English editor. Also will have to meet this man, who still have doubts in decided my future job.

I applied to Indonesian Bakery Magazine. I applied as a reporter, but turns out they offer me a freelance job first. Just to decide which position I would be suitable for. It all made it that way, because I was expecting a little bit higher salary. Which they thought it was suitable for a supervisor position. Hell, somehow, deep down, I doubt it that I could be that SUPER! *scoff

Another doubtfulness, another pessimism took all over me. In my humble defense, I feel like I still need a lot of things to learn, indeed I am. Whether I am capable of managing other people under my superiority. Am I being over-think about this matter, or being realistic of my own capability?

It's not like I am not capable enough, think I am capable of it. I was just not that ready in handling this kind of expectancy. All I need was a settle job, but I guess having another freelance job won't do any harm..right? My friend said, I shouldn't think much about my capability over this job. Not to mentioned, the commuting situation I was expected to be. Again, the office is practically far from my place. But hey, above all I just want to be sure of my own ability, and prepare the worst.

They said, on this freelance job, they will need me to do some task. I have no idea, what's the task will be. Shall I interview some important man in the pastry world. Hope it will all turns out tomorrow...well!

It's a wrap now, need to pick up my sister now. Nite ya'll!

the walking blackberries!

Again..hope you guys will not be bored, reading another page of my random walks.

In search of the sense of companionship. Here I am, sitting in the circle of my family members. My sister, Nanda and naughty little brat, Galih my 10 year old brother. We are sitting in another comforting lounge, comes with the internet wi-fi indeed.

Then I wonder, what was exactly our parents thought when they firstly enter the 9o's era. The era when internet seems to evolved. The era where technology was being the most wanted thing. Well, I'd say the 2000 era was actually the real moment where that situation begun. Does our parents and the elders are crazily amused by what technology could gave us now? What I meant crazily amused is that they could get captivated by the latest gadget and thought..."Damn! It was just yesterday, I baked the cookies with a microwave or I could really asked someone to call me by a tiny beeping device named pager. Now, I can literally found a walking blackberries almost in all over places! That is INSANE!"

I watched the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. This movie based on the true story of these two young men in pursuing their dreams to make the latest innovation to the world. The story tells similarly closed to the Social Network. However, this one tells about the intriguing battle between the glorious Apple Macintosh-the great Mr. Steve Jobs and Microsoft -the-you-know-who Mr. Bill Gates. How these two brands tried to make their first encountered and establishment to the new world of technology. The conflicts are smartly well put, not just seeing the struggle between these two brands competing, but we could see the real life of Steve Jobs, who turned out denying his own daughter and left his pregnant girlfriend. *scoffs* MEN...

Aight! Gotta end this post now. Miss my blanket in a cold bedroom!
Cheers!

the existence of my beloved company

Sitting here, with my beloved girls. Nataya, Adis, and Risty minus Arsyie, because she had to meet her cousin coming home from Germany. We grew up together since university. We share all of the inside jokes and stories. The silliness, the laughter, and the crazy little things we did in every places we go. We hang out tonight because of the alarming statement which Adis made today.

Adis: "Risty is in problem, she need us to gather so she can share the burden."

This line implies that we should be there for Risty, because we love her. Also, that's what friends are for, isn't it? So, voila..here we are, listening to what Risty got to say. Turns out it's about a conflict in her company, dealing with her own Manager. Yet, it's a woman. I wonder why is it me and all of my friends had to dealt with some serious conflicts with a woman superior.

What I had was dealing with my superior, my Managing Editor when I worked in a magazine. The burden was actually not coming from the deadlines..surely not. It was certainly coming from this woman. A heavy smoker, a little bit mental, a stubborn bitch, who like to hand over her problems to her inferior. Surprisingly, that inferior was ME.

I have no idea why the hell this person like her can be such an ass. Yet, it was not only happen to me, even to my Editor another inferior of hers. We had to struggle everyday to avoid her bundles of problems. I worked in that magazine for 7 months. I actually able to manage and cooperate with her problems. Also who turned out to give out her resignation letter not long after my hard times with her.

After the dreadful time I had to dealt with her, I had to faced some serious fights with my Marketing Manager. She is older than me, for sure. However, she seemed to put a lot of care to people's problems. It was only because of the reimbursement letter which I made every time I had a press conference to attend. She was there, bluffing herself out, tried to make things right. Being a hero where she certainly not supposed to be there. Making such a big complication where I had to yell at her...loudly!

There you go all of the problems I had with the superior....woman. Risty tried to hanging on there, managing her way til it reach May, at least. Because on May she will be officially working in that magazine for a year. We pray for Risty's comfort, hope she can manage her one month left very well. We shall be there for her, indeed. And all of the bad situation we had. We shall be there for our beloved dear friend. Indeed.

the three letters to speed up your evolution, human!

A world without SEX, is that too hard to ask?!

I had a thought in mind about this term. SEX. What will happen to our world without it? Is it gonna be so white and dull? or even greater?

My dear friend said:
"So there will be no more rapist, no incest, no more women ( or men) selling their body for something more precious, no sexual transmitted disease, no more bandwidth wasting for porn sites. Flushed down some impolite men who keep asking some women over and over to show their boobs."

Because God seems to expect his children to make love, so that they can make the little children to be born in this crazy world, inherits all of their genes and characters. Hopefully for a good deeds!

That is a hell out of work! even a superhero will expect and pull their heart out to make this kind of world exist. Then why not start now? Guess that is not an easy task to do. Badly, we are living in the world of lust and passion. The night I thought about this lovely world to happen, the next thing I got was a huge craving for sex in the morning after. CRAP!

I'm sure this will only open for a discussion, no one will take a further action, except to hold it for themselves. And I can't control other people's ass to get fucked. So here I am, open up my mouth for something which seems to be easy to talk about, but not an easy thing to solved.

Again ladies and gentleman. SEX!

Dexter oh Dexter!

I watched this serial TV movies and i found it amazingly great! The main character, Dexter Morgan. A forensic officer in Miami Police Department, who living his life in full of lies. He kept the secret in his life, turns out to be a serial killer.

Not just it, he killed all the convicts people who usually get in away from the law or escaped. Dexter got them chopped, put them in a table, strapped in a plastic duct tape, cut into pieces with some sharp knives. I loved when Dexter doing his job...killing the bad guys!

Funny thing is, Dexter never get caught up. He got one inch closed into the arrest which his own department held on, then he got lucky...big time. Yet, he always find a way to get away from the accusation. This intriguing conflicts indeed, excites me the most.

Dexter was being adopted by a police officer named Harry Morgan. Dexter found in a trailer, watching his own mother chopped facing death. He and his brother had to experienced this crazy massacre in 2 inches thick of blood. While his brother was also a serial killer, they called him the ice truck killer. I believe there some kind of psychological effects on seeing your beloved parents chopped into pieces. Poor Dexter!

While his father taught Dexter very well how to apply his anger in slightly more proper way to compensate...killing the bad guys. Dexter happened to live emotionless and dull, but he had to faking it so that he can be accepted and look normal in a society.

One thing that bumps me out while I'm watching this serial killer is when Dexter got involved in a romance story. Yes, he had a girlfriend. A mother of two, Rita..work as a front desk in a hotel. It just seems unfair, isn't that Dexter is emotionless? can't feel any happiness, nor sadness.

Why does he would end up building a relationship? A serious one. As the assurance, this movie filled up with a plenty of sexual intercourse scenes. Which I still can't accept it right, they made love too much! *sigh* Guess that's one thing that can sell a movie..indeed.

Dexter's voice in the very beginning of the movie, I take it as if Dexter still purely naive, no sex on his mind whatsoever.

He uttered:
"Friday Night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami. and everyone is having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so...undignified."

Precisely in that statement Dexter mentioned that having sex seems to be undignified...as lacking in dignity. How come a person like Dexter could be crave crazily for sex. I'll say it's all Rita's fault! Yes..I blame Rita for that..*scoffs*

More tragic I'll say, the scene when Rita got pregnant! yuck...that is certainly happened because they made love too much...like...way too much! I clapped my hands and exclaimed : Fuck yeah! This story gets pathetically ruined!

Probably, I can understand where maybe people out there are being so curious to know what is it like if a guy like Dexter, an emotionless man had to play his role in parenting. Does the child will end up inherits his killing behavior? or becoming like Rita? Hmmm..still, it's disturbing to watch. Why not Dexter keep working on his killing hunts without this kind of burden?

Dexter voices:
"We're supposed to see hope in children. But right now, all i see are little bundles of uncertainty. And germs. But that's another matter. I love kids. I can play with them, enjoy them. And leave."

This lines of his voice proves that even Dexter is still have doubts in him! At first, he decided will not be there with Rita to raise the child. But I guess he changed his mind in the end. This movie is not fun anymore to watch. Darn it!

C.R.A.V.E

There is nothing I crave the most besides this five letters F.O.O.D.S!

Woke up this morning with a huge craving for some certain foods. Several images of the foods filled up my brain, indeed. Some of them are the foods which I haven't got the chance to taste it, and the rest of it are the foods I missed, cause I didn't get the chance coming by to the restaurants anymore.

1. Suekiaw (Accomplished)

Some people said Suekiaw comes with pork in it, somehow I don't give a damn what's inside of it. I would dare myself to taste this delicate Chinese cuisine. My friend told me it filled with shrimp. Craving Rates : five stars-MAXIMUM!

2. Lumpia @Chopstix

Last time I had this appetizer was some years years ago. Once I bite this Lumpia, the mayonnaise squirt inside my mouth, yet the mayonnaise as the sauce is not only for garnished. I used to lick the plate with fingers to finished this incredible appetizer.

3. Teh Tarik

Long time ago, I always ordered Teh Tarik. The tendency was like....always! The taste was so sweet and I could taste the essence of tea fragrance in it. Washed away my thirst!

4. Bangka Chicken Noodle any food stall streets (Accomplished)

Noodle is like the main course I would always have, daily. But Bangka Chicken Noodle is a little bit different from the usual noodle I’ve tasted. Surprisingly, mom just asked me to come with her eating this one fine noodle I’ve been craving for.Yeayyy!!

5. Cream Mushroom Sauce Fetuccini @Sebastian Coffee Shop

I went to this place last Friday, and this Italian pasta indeed made me want it even more! But the next thing I want to order is definitely the Penne Pasta. With a big bowl full of pasta with cream mushrooms and bacon is all I wanted now.

6. Banana Caramel Sundae @Deli48 (Accomplished)

(this is not exactly picture I meant, there was no banana caramel sundae of Deli48 on google)

Deli48 is my favorite place to hang out with friends. Someone introduced me to this lovely place in Brawijaya No. 48. I also made a review about this place when I worked in a travel magazine. Banana Caramel Sundae is one thing I'd always have when I come there…always! The waiter is already noticed what I want once they are hand out the menu to me. My craziness for caramel indeed brought me to taste the sweetness of this heavenly dessert. Luckily, I went there yesterday with my friend, Ainun. Had a blast to taste it again after a while.

Yet, literally typing this post, I am imagining another foods inside my head now. Have faith, G!

knock knock Dentist!

Sitting on this new coffee shop named, Sebastian Coffee Shop. This delicate coffee I ordered is an Cappuccino Iced and Fettuccini Cream Sauce. Such a great decent foods, made my eyes sparkling brightly. The essence and the beauty of sitting here is such a soothing act.

Been thinking about my next plan. DENTIST. I have a problem of one this one tooth.
A big hole in it, has made my tooth broken, yet there is a hole in my other tooth. Miserable indeed! Gladly, I have this girl friend of my friend's brother. She is doing this dentist practice for her study and made me one of her patient. Ella will be the one who's in charge managing this stupid tooth I have. Hopefully I would still alive when I come out from the room.

It's not like I never brush my teeth properly, it's just that I already had this hole in this tooth for way too long. Until one day, this hole really made such a big problem for me. She told me that I need to implant a new tooth in me. Scary indeed...the day will be tomorrow at 9 in the morning!

(my teeth gritted)

I shall make a better way after this time visit to the dentist. Brush my teeth more often should helped. Might want to line up some braces again. Once I already had braces long time ago, but the messy used have made me to took it off and placed a removable retainer. And again, the sloppy used of me took over everything. Lame..I am such a lame human being in the sense of nurturing things.

(my silly look with braces 6 years ago, had it for two years)

I shall be better next time. I must be.
